World-Famous Logos Get Redesigned In Unique, Hand-Drawn Calligraphy Style

McDonald’s, Spotify, YouTube, Google, Coca-Cola and adidas. These names might conjure up images of their iconic logo designs in your mind, but what if these well-recognized graphics took on a wholly different aesthetic?

Luis Lilia Mexico-based art director at ad agency Submarino Marketing, has remade the logos of these world-famous brands in unique, hand-drawn calligraphy style. The lettering designer began dabbling in this field two years ago, after gaining inspiration from other artists.

In an email to DesignTAXI, Lili explains that while these logos have excellent designs, hand lettering gives the visuals somewhat of a more unique, personalized touch that’s otherwise absent from their established makeups, which utilize existing typographies.

“These are made with non-existent drawn letters,” elaborates Lili. “I have always thought that lettering is the best way to illustrate what is meant in words.”

Each recreated logo design goes through the stages of planning, grid layout, color selection, and sketching, before the final artwork is completed, which takes approximately three hours in total.

See the hand-lettered logo designs of world-famous brands below. Which is your favorite?
