Google Experiments Three Photo Apps To Push Boundaries Of Phone Photography
Google has announced three new photography applications—‘Storyboard’ (Android only), ‘Selfissimo!’ (iOS and Android), and ‘Scrubbies’ (iOS only)—as part of its ‘Appsperiments’ program to push the boundaries of smartphone photography.
‘Storyboard’ for Android
This first app uses object recognition and style algorithms to automatically grab interesting frames from a video, before dropping them into comic book-style layouts with appropriate filters. If this aesthetic is not your cup of tea, you can choose other alternate visual styles offered.
‘Selfissimo!’ automatically snaps black-and-white photos whenever you stop moving; letting you take multiple selfies without having to press the shutter every time you strike a pose.
‘Scrubbies’ for iOS
This iOS-only app creates video loops in speeds and directions that you can “remix” like a DJ at the turntables.
While these new apps are still in the initial trial phase, they could make their way to Google Photos eventualy if all goes well.
